Dayton Scholars program runs June 3rd - July 12th of 2024. No session July 4th in observance of the July 4th holiday. Operating times are 8:30am to 3:00pm, Monday-Friday. Program set to accept primarily pre-kindergarten thru 3rd graders - any student any school district.
Scholars Program
Dayton Scholars Pre-K to 3rd Grade (six weeks reading and math)
Mission: To support and encourage the academically struggling (low income) children by providing intense math and literacy instruction and recreation programs to achieve measurable success and life-long learning.
The Purpose of the Project is to:
- Seek out children who need extra support in math and reading
- Provide enrichment programs to increase positive behavior: math, reading, sports and arts & crafts with a licensed childcare framework
- Narrow the educational gap and empower children with tools for long-term academic success that will lead to more choices and options for their future
- Realign parents' attitudes concerning the positive effects of early education for the future of their children. The Program will reach out to whole families that they build supportive relationships within their home to encourage their children beyond their own circumstances and reach for a better future.
